My friend burned her leg 20 years ago. It was the grossest thing I have ever seen. I have always been afraid of my glue gun after seeing that.
ReplyDeletexyronts_kasey@yahoo.com
COOL! LOVE the idea of the cool tools...would save many fingers....LOL!
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower. Looking forward to your show. My glue gun story is having one with no stand, so I lay it on the side and end up burning my arm. I've invested in a better one since then.

I am accident prone, so you can probably imagine how dangerous I am (to my self) with a piping hot glue gun! I pretty much burn myself every time I plug it in. I couldn't possibly count how many times it has happened. Hot Glue Gun Helpers will keep me from adding to this long list of self-inflicted wounds!
ReplyDeletemelisataylor@mac.com
One time my b/f was helping me make a wedding gift and he was holding the glue gun (because it kept slipping off my table). Well he wasn't paying attention and the glue dripped on my thigh! OOWWW.
ReplyDeleteI think the whole package is a great idea, I would definitely make good use of the mat.......lol.

ReplyDeleteI squeezed some hot glue right under my nail bed one night while I was gluing away, most painful for sure because I couldn't rip it right off like I usually do! I never pay close enough attention and usually end up with a burn or two!

Here's my comment to get into the giveaway...my glue gun is over 20 years old!! It's time to get a new one for sure.
ReplyDeletecarlajhatch@hotmail.com
I burned my fingers many times my first time ever using a hot glue gun. Martha Stewart had said to keep a bowl of cold water near by so you could dip your fingers in when glue gets on them. I thought, "gosh, that's a bit silly! How bad can it be?!?!?". Needless to say I learned quick. Still don't have the bowl of water near by so am looking forward to these Hot Glue Helpers!

Such a great idea! I need a set...either win one or buy one (eventually).
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower... we just moved and in the process two of my wreaths were demolished. I've been wanting to fix them but my glue gun overheated and melted from the inside! I've tried new ones and hated them. I would love an excuse to be able to fix these projects and start new ones for our new house! Thanks! kellieanneyeates@gmail.com

I'm a blog follower. My coffee table and kitchen table always have dried hot glue on them. My dog chewed the cord of my favorite hot glue gun in the middle of a project I was working on, so I had to run grab a cheap one from the dollar section of the local store, only I didn't know the cord was only 2 feet long. I kept unintentionally unplugging it everytime I tried to glue, so I had to finish my project cramped up on the floor right next to the outlet, not fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm keeping my fingerprintless fingers crossed that I win this time! :)
ReplyDeleteHow exciting that you will be on HSN!! I am a follower & so need the cordless glue gun & the Glue Gun Helpers!! I have often said I could turn to a life of crime, cause I no longer have fingerprints!! :)

my daughter was making a hat out of felt and the hot glue gun... when it came time to put the pieces on, she grabbed a pen to push the piece on the hot glue and not get burned. jillseeu(at)hotmail(dot)com I follow!

I NEED THIS! :)
ReplyDeleteMy story:
Just last year I was sitting on the floor making a really pretty baby rosette headband. Two problems with this scenario - 1) I was sitting on the floor, and 2) I was wearing shorts. I was using an insanely hot glue gun (no joke, you could probably glue your car to the side of the garage with that thing!). I put glue all over the back of a quarter sized rosette and then flipped it over to put it on the headband. You know what's coming next right? Yes, instead of flipping over onto the headband, that steaming hot rosette flipped right over glue side down onto my leg!! My husband was traveling for work that night. It was after midnight. My daughter was asleep. I knew I probably should go to the hospital but I wasn't convinced waking my sleeping daughter was a good plan. After talking to a nurse friend and texting her a picture of the burn, she practically forced me to go to the ER immediately. This was not your standard glue gun burn. It didn't even blister. My skin basically melted off. This was an 'almost burned my leg off' glue gun burn! Long story short, I had a really severe burn that took a really long time to heal and I have a really strange looking scar. What did I learn? I should be more careful.

Being a Girl Scout throughout my entire childhood allowed me to wear the "Badge of Honor" of fingertip burns and strings of dried glue from all our crafts :)
ReplyDeleteIt was ok as a kid but with a little one of my own now, this would be amazing!
My fingers would be eternally grateful!!!!! Pam

Here's my story:
ReplyDeleteI used to be a leader for very LARGE Girl Scout troop (31 girls). We were crafting fools most of the time. I was working with them on a particularly difficult craft of heavily dribbling hot glue from a glue gun onto racketballs, to later peel apart and made open circular christmas ornaments with. One of the girls were talking with her friend and not paying attention and when I bent over to pick something up beside her, she dribbled hot glue all over my head! It wasn't much, but enough to get my attention (and hers) immediately with my screaching! We never made another craft like this again! - Karen

Such fabulous stories! I wish I had something has great to share-- As a teacher I use hot glue a lot for craft projects with the kids. I'm excited about tools that will let me have my students participate more in the glue process and stay safe while they are at it!
ReplyDeleteAs your sister--I'm not really eligible to win--I just wanted to show my support!
Love,
Erin

Hot glue guns. Who doesnt have a story?
ReplyDeleteI learned quickly that you dont use hot glue guns when the kids havent gone down for their nap yet! I had put them down, but they werent asleep. Started crafting and woo hoo came from behind me, I turned and hit the end of the glue gun into my forearm - screamed - and magically she ran back to her room! I did go check on her after I got the glue and layers of skin taken care of!
I have several HGG stories, but one of the worst was making silk flower bouquets for a friends wedding. Our fingers were absolutely raw with burns! It was very painful & embarrassing! Can't wait to get my Hot glue gun helpers! :-)
ReplyDeletekimothy122@cox.net
I wish I had these products when I decorated some lamp shades several years ago. Glue guns and fingers just do not do well together. Plus, I got the gun too close to the shade and burned a spot. This spot has spread and I am going to have to do something else to it.
ReplyDeleteThese are so cool! Could probably let my daughter start helping me with projects with this kind of protection!
ReplyDeleteJacichambers.jc@gmail.com
you will be great! i've got it set to record in case i forget to stay tuned. i'm going to FB, tweet and blog your show so you get the press. And in case an extra "kit" falls into your hands, i'd love to do a blog giveaway!

These are the best inventions ever! I plan on purchasing, but winning some might deter my kids from stealing them! Can't wait to see your segment. I will definitely dvr just in case!
ReplyDeleteI want these! I've burned myself so often (thankfully, no scars) and have accidentally glued my projects down to my craft desk more times than I can count. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! My email addy is tabbiecat77 at gmail dot com.
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower. I don't have any recent stories, but when I was a teen the cap part wasn't on tight and the glue oozed all over the place instead of out the nozzle.
ReplyDeleteI'm now a follower! This sounds like a great tool for those of us who just can't seem to operate a glue gun correctly!! I'm looking forward to getting one-God Bless- Pat, A Remade Life

I was so disappointed when they ran out on hsn. I teach Sr. citizens and we use the hot glue gun all the time. This would be so helpful for them if we had one. Thanks for such a great invention.
